Buenos Aires Market Fire: Dozens Affected

A major fire broke out at a market in the Villa Pueyrredón neighborhood of Buenos Aires. As a result of the incident, at least ten patients were treated with oxygen, and around 120 people were evacuated. Official sources informed the Noticias Argentinas agency that the fire occurred in a 10 by 50-meter building at 4720 General José G. Artigas Street, where a widespread blaze was detected. In response, Buenos Aires firefighters established two 38-millimeter lines through the main entrance, while six employees at the location had safely withdrawn. During the emergency operation, a canopy at the entrance collapsed, hindering the view of the rear of the building. Meanwhile, efforts were made from General Mosconi Avenue to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent structures. Ten individuals—seven women and three men—inhaled carbon monoxide and were provided with oxygen; four of them were firefighters.
